A full developmental edit can be expensive and take weeks, while an evaluation usually highlights problems without offering solutions. My Manuscript Evaluation is an affordable, in-depth analysis delivered within two weeks, and includes a one-hour Creative Call to figure out your next steps.
For manuscripts up to 100k the total cost is €800 and includes:
A thorough readthrough of your manuscript
Inline comments showing my thought process (my working notes as I read, which help me compile your report)
A comprehensive analysis report (10–15 pages) with examples and explanations
A 1-hour Creative Call to discuss your questions and brainstorm ideas
How it works:
Discovery Call
We’ll start with a 30-minute call so that I can learn about you and your story, you can ask me about my experience, and we can see whether we vibe.
Questionnaire
After that, I’ll send you a brief questionnaire to complete. This helps me understand your goals, where you see your book in the market, and what you believe your story’s strengths and weaknesses are. You can also tell me about any feedback you’ve already received and how many rounds of editing you’re story has gone through.
Analysis
The next stage generally takes around two weeks. It involves a thorough readthrough, detailed notetaking, and then writing a comprehensive analysis of your manuscript. I tend to leave inline comments showing my thought process, but I’ll organize these into notes for easier reading.
I’ll focus on what I believe is working well, which parts would benefit from revision, and some suggestions for possible next steps, which we can discuss in the call. I always provide examples and explanations for my feedback so you can clearly understand my reasoning and make informed decisions about what to change.
Creative Call
Once you’ve had a chance to go through the analysis, we’ll have a 1-hour Creative Call. This gives you a chance to ask questions, brainstorm ideas, and discuss any changes you’re considering.
Optional Add-On: Second Readthrough
To support you through the revision process, I offer an optional second readthrough of your revised manuscript. For a fee of €200, I’ll review your changes and provide a concise follow-up report to ensure your revisions are effectively strengthening your story.
